Manager, Financial Reporting

Responsibilities:

Lethbridge College’s high functioning finance department is currently searching for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join the team. Reporting to the Director, Financial Services and working closely with the CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, projections, account reconciliation and profit and loss reporting. The Manager, Financial Reporting will ensure that a professional and efficient financial management service is delivered to all cost centres of the college. The candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing staff. If you have a strong background in corporate financial management, we want to hear from you. Job Duties:

• Preparation of monthly financial statements and MD&A

• Coordinate and prepare the draft annual financial statements in preparation for the year-end audit

• Develop annual financial budgets and forecasts for the college

• Conduct analysis of financial risks and benefits on college initiatives

• Track costs and related funding for specific capital projects

• Prepare ad hoc reports as required

• Compliance with various government reporting requirements

• Ensure the college’s financial reporting complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Public-Sector Accounting Standards

• Supervision of financial reporting team

• Provide guidance and direction to finance staff to ensure accurate financial reporting

Required Qualifications:

• Chartered Professional Accountant
• 8+ years’ financial management experience (big four experience considered an asset)
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and public sector accounting standards
• Strong knowledge of business processes and internal controls
• Advanced knowledge of financial reporting
• Impeccable analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
• Highly developed people skills
• Initiative
• Ability to work independently
• Strong sense of ownership of job

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
