Vice-President, Finance

The Vice President, Finance is a critical role providing leadership for the YMCA of
Greater Vancouver’s (YGV) financial assets to meet present and future strategic
requirements. The Vice President is responsible for developing, monitoring and
executing the finance plan and budget to ensure the YMCA’s vision and strategy
are realized. They support the continued sustainable and effective evolution
and growth of the YMCA, and also ensure the efficient and effective financial
management of all programs and services delivered by the YMCA Entities. The
Vice President optimizes the YGV’s assets through effective management and
investment of funds, and effective revenue and expense strategies. They also
ensure that financial procedures and controls are in place, and safeguard YMCA
finances and assets.
As the ideal candidate, you are a successful financial professional who has been
responsible for overseeing the finance function in a complex, multi-faceted,
program delivery organization. You live the YGV values; demonstrate excellent
leadership, coaching and communication skills; and have the self-confidence
to advise and interact with the YGV’s leadership team, Entity Boards and other
diverse stakeholders. With significant growth on the horizon for the YGV, you must
be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment while overseeing a complex
portfolio and managing the work of a small team. You ideally have experience in
a large, program-delivering, multi-faceted charitable or public sector organization.
