We are seeking a self-starter with a demonstrated history of identifying issues and problem solving for this exciting Assistant Controller role. This Assistant Controller position consists of regulating the day-to-day of the accounting staff and providing updates to the Controller. - Assemble distinct technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
- Work on other requests when required
- Facilitate the accounting team during the closing process to see to it that deadlines are met
- Direct to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment
- Foster accountability and the meeting of deliverables
- Ensure regular account reconciliation to completion
- Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
- Create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
- Backfill for Controller when appropriate
The perfect candidate will have the following combination of skills:
- Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
- Significant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
- Strong technical background in public accounting
- 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
- Pursuing or completion of the CPA
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Adjusting Journal Entries
- Accounting Systems experience
- Adeptness in Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
