Senior Associate, Investments

We are currently looking for a financial and/or accounting professional to join our investment team as Senior Associate, Investments to assume the following responsibilities:

• Coordinate financial reporting of borrowers, review financial statements and assess compliance with loan agreements;
• Assist in due diligence of new lending opportunities, including appropriate financial analysis focused on assessment of forecasts, collateral value and debt service capacity;
• Assist in the implementation of accounts receivable factoring arrangements and review of factoring submissions;
• Assist in updating and preparing valuations of debt and equity investments for internal and external reporting purposes; and
• Other duties related to management of debt and equity investments.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes:

• CPA designation, obtained in public practice focusing on smaller client engagements (although alternate designations combined with financial statement preparation and analysis experience may be considered);
• Financial analysis and modelling expertise;
• Desire to evolve career into the investment management industry and pursue the CFA or CBV designation;
• Strong finance bent, being proficient with DCF and IRR concepts and calculations;
• Experience with and ability to quickly read and accurately interpret financing and legal agreements would be a definite asset;
• Knowledge of and experience with accounts receivable factoring and/or asset based lending arrangements would be a definite asset;
• Some experience using capitalized earnings and discounted cash flow valuation approaches would be an asset; and
• Good credit and clean police check is required.
