Financial Reporting Analyst

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Financial Reporting Analyst on a permanent basis at our Home Office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

What you’ll do:

Ensure the compliance with external financial reporting requirements for FCL and its subsidiaries including financial statement and disclosure preparation. Monitor changes to external reporting requirements and consider their impact on the FCL group of companies.

  • Identify financial reporting requirements that affect or will affect FCL and its subsidiaries and propose recommendations for them to the Manager, Financial Reporting and Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting for approval, including continuous improvement to current reporting practices.
  • Assist the Manager with the external consolidation process and preparation of the audited financial statements and management’s discussion and analysis, including assigned calculations and analysis and notes to the consolidated statements.
  • Assist in the quarterly internal consolidation process for FCL and its subsidiaries. This process leads to the monthly board report provided to the Board and SLT.
  • Propose updates and improvements to our existing accounting policies to ensure more consistent application across our group of companies.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Finance and:

  • You have a Bachelor of Commerce/Business (with Accounting major).
  • You have a minimum of 3-6 years of relevant experience of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), preference for systems and/or consolidation experience (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
  • You have a CPA designation.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others.
