Treasurer for Non-Profit Board of Directors

Waste Free Edmonton Society is seeking out someone with financial/accounting background and expertise that can act as Treasurer on our Board of Directors, and help navigate the financial requirements of becoming a registered charity.

• Responsibilities:
  • Attend Board meetings (4/year);
  • Serve on Board committees;
  • Participate in decision-making relating to the Society’s operations, including governance, finances and campaigns/programs;
  • Oversee the financial and organizational integrity of the Society;
  • Support and attend Society fundraising and networking events;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Society’s strategic vision;
  • Be familiar with the Society’s mission, vision, objectives, and programs/campaigns;
  • Build relationships with government, businesses, and citizens on behalf of the Society;
  • Oversee and direct the work of volunteers.

• Preferred Skills:
  • Fundraising experience;
  • Understanding of non-profit sector and board governance;
  • A passion for waste reduction and the Society’s mission;

  • Hard working and self-motivated.
