Financial Accountant

Founded in 2005, Invico Capital Corporation is a Calgary, Alberta based independent alternative investment fund management firm with approximately $490 million of private capital under management. Invico provides alternative capital solutions, including both private equity and private debt to assist high-quality companies and management teams in making strategic acquisitions, financing capital expenditures and growth programs and supporting working capital requirements.

We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant. As a key member of the accounting team, the successful candidate will have an established track record in accounting, technically proficient, and flexible with taking on, learning, and adjusting to all new tasks assigned by the Leadership Team.

The job responsibilities include:

• Strong full-cycle accounting experience, including AR/APs. Payroll and month-end accruals.
• Cost analysis and operating expenses report
• Maintaining the fixed assets system, prepaid and accrual schedule
• Reconciliation of the Intercompany accounts
• Reconciliation of investor account activities in the database vs the general ledger
• Monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts
• Fees calculations, including but not limited to management fee, trailer fee, rebates and expenses allocation
• Assisting in the development and implementation of in-house accounting policies and procedures
• Assisting in research and applying new IFRS standards transitions
• Other duties as required

Required education and experience:

• REQUIRED: Accounting designation
• 5-7 years of related full-cycle work experience required
• Experience in fund accounting a strong asset
• Previous involvement in accounting standards and tax regulation research
• Experience in an entrepreneurial environment, where extra duties may include roles outside the outlined job description
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and have excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong MS Excel skills and knowledgeable in MS Word
• Competency in Simply Accounting would be an asset
