Corporate Director

The Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), Canada’s public company audit regulator, is seeking applicants for board positions that will become vacant in 2020.

CPAB’s governing rules have specific requirements with respect to the composition of its board.  In view of the current board composition and vacancies over the next few years, CPAB is looking for a candidate with Audit Oversight Regulatory Experience which means satisfactory experience, as determined at the discretion of the Council of Governors, at a Relevant Provincial Regulatory Authority (whether through serving or having served as a member of management or as a member of the board of directors or similar body) in the oversight of public accounting firms.

As a board member, you will proactively participate in the board’s goal of excellence and support consensus building, ensure fiscal responsibility, and provide credible stakeholder perspectives.  You will also serve on one board committee and participate in full board meetings (approximately five meetings a year) in Toronto, Canada.

In addition to the current need for audit oversight regulatory experience, candidates with senior management (C-suite) and board experience are preferred.  Other highly valued skills and characteristics include proficiency in both official languages and experience with strategy and governance.  The successful candidate will be collaborative, respectful and value inclusivity.
