Senior Accountant, Investment Finance (12 Month Fixed-Term)

Our Investment Finance Department is seeking a Senior Accountant (12 month Fixed- Term) to help the group perform highly specialized accounting and financial reporting functions across a multi-layered investment pool structure for AIMCo’s clients. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of investment types in this accounting-based role.

On a daily basis you help to provide accounting guidance to internal and external clients in their on-going financial reporting and statutory audits. You will also provide accounting support for all projects and initiatives as needed by Management and the Board to deliver on the Net Asset Value (NAV) Quality Control, Accountings Oversight and Accounting System Oversight mandates.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing new accounting standards and updates to ensure changes are reflected accurately on our accounting system configuration.
• Determines and implements oversight procedures with the ability to independently perform testing within complex and/or technical accounting subject matters.
• Resolving calculation errors, mapping, and integration configuration issues in collaboration with BT and Vendors.
• Providing oversight on the production of investment holding, accounting entries and information between systems to ensure that trades and positions are processed correctly.
• Overseeing daily investment pool certificate transactions, changes to portfolio structures and client’s ownership ensuring all clients are kept whole through the transaction.
• Providing written summaries regarding Accounting standards/policy, NAV and other accounting updates.
• Responding to any Accounting or Audit enquires from internal and external clients.
• Providing support for the development of policies, and developing, implementing and maintaining accounting procedures.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Professional designation (CFA and/or CPA)
• Strong technical capability in SimCorp Dimension and working knowledge of database querying and programming languages
• Good understanding of financial markets, including experience with complex investment instruments
• Superior problem-solving skills and strong attention to details
• Proven track record of taking initiative to independently research and resolve issues.

One-year success will be achieved by your ability to:

• Gain a deep understanding of SimCorp Dimension, internal reports and manage client inquires independently to address accounting queries and support accounting requirements.
• Enhance Client’s Accounting PowerBI dashboards through deeper understanding of Client’s reporting requirements.

Note: This position is a 12 month Fixed-Term.
