OneSoft, through its subsidiary OneBridge Solutions Inc., has developed a revolutionary pipeline integrity SaaS application that assists pipeline operators to predict pipeline failures and thereby save lives, reduce costs and protect the environment. OneBridge has recently emerged from the product development cycle and is now focused on driving its revenues throughout North America. Several very large Fortune 100 companies are amongst its clients. 

We have an immediate opening for a self-directed, self-motivated Controller to join our team and be responsible for all financial accounting and related activities to assist the Company to achieve its desired steep growth path.

The Candidate:

This position will appeal to someone looking for varied tasks and the opportunity to grow and learn. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this person will be exposed to more challenging responsibilities as their experience allows and they will actively participate in issues and challenges facing the Accounting team and Company. The position is very hands-on and a number of tasks both mundane and challenging must be performed. It is expected the successful candidate will have the technical, interpersonal and management skills to graduate to the position of Chief Financial Officer within the next few years.

Candidate Requirements:

  • five or more years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment or public accounting position with exposure to publicly traded companies.
  • CPA designation or equivalent.  
  • strong attention to detail, highly self-motivated and self-directed and ability to stay focused and accomplish tasks at hand
  • high computer literacy with spreadsheets and other PC software. Exposure to ERP systems would be an asset.
  • good interpersonal and organizational skills including the ability to effectively communicate with remote staff.
  • ability to effectively interact with management team to assist in managing the Company and helping it to progress

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all Financial Accounting ensuring compliancy with IFRS standards and maintaining and improving the internal control system. This will include :
    • Performing key monthly accounting transactions and duties.
    • Preparing interim and annual financial statements.
    • Remaining current on new IFRS, National Instruments and Venture Exchange reporting requirements.
    • Managing the annual external audit including all document preparation, writing Position Papers as necessary and ensuring the audit flows smoothly at optimal cost.
  • Attending quarterly Audit Committee meetings and presenting the Financial Statement to the Audit Committee.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the MD&A and other interim and annual financial documents.
  • Preparing special, ad-hoc reports and the monthly internal management report summarizing the Company’s activities and results and reporting Company KPI’s.
  • Ensuring payroll and employee benefits packages for U.S. and Canadian employees are processed and maintained. 
  • being familiar with customer contracts, revenue generating activities and ensuring that all revenue is invoiced, all accounts receivable are collected and liabilities are satisfied.
  • ensuring all Sales and Use Taxes and GST is assessed, collected and remitted and perform research as required to ensure full compliancy with all state sales and use tax regimes is maintained.
  • Maintaining and improving the Company’s transfer pricing program.

Reporting relationships:

The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will have an indirect reporting relationship with the President and the CEO. An employee who processes payroll and performs several bookkeeping tasks will report to the Controller.
