Senior Tax Analyst

Located in downtown Calgary and reporting to the Director, Corporate Tax, the Senior Tax Analyst will assist with tax compliance, tax audit and tax planning initiatives for the global Shareworks group of companies.  This role will be exposed to a broad range of tax including income tax, sales tax and transfer pricing in a global setting working closely with the Morgan Stanley Tax team in New York City.

The Senior Tax Analyst will be a practical and hands-on business leader with a track record of success working closely with all levels of employees to deliver on the objectives of the Finance department.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions
  • Preparation of Canadian income tax returns
  • Liaising with the global Morgan Stanley Tax team to prepare the Shareworks corporate income tax filings in all international jurisdictions
  • Coordinating sales tax filings in all jurisdictions including GST/HST, QST/PST, VAT and US state and local taxes
  • Managing tax audits through tax analysis, information gathering and status documentation
  • Assist in technical research and providing recommendations on complex or significant tax issues and planning projects

Qualifications

  • Professional designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA)
  • 2+ years relevant corporate tax experience
  • Completion of CICA In-Depth tax course an asset
  • Experience with corporate tax in a public company setting an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, and teamwork skills
