Manager, Finance Operations

Exciting opportunity for the finance leader who is driven by process improvement! Streamline the accounting engine in a dynamic finance department within a complex business. 

3 direct reports (AR&Payroll), team of 25. Reports to Director, Corporate Controller

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Develop, mentor and lead the team in the delivery of accounting processes to ensure revenue and cost of goods sold transactions are recorded accurately, timely and in accordance with policies
  • Evaluate current data collection and discrepancy reconciliation processes versus best practice and identify opportunities for improvement – document and improve the current state!
  • Referenced data includes payroll, customer billing and creation of accrued revenue and accounts receivable records
  • Be a part of the improvement implementation by collaborating with the Director, Finance Process, Data and Systems - you progress the way data comes in so the system can provide an improved output
  • Identify, implement and communicate relevant KPI’s for management of individual revenue and cost transactions – fact based discussions with tangible targets!
  • Maintain and enhance internal accounting controls over revenue and cost data collection, reconciliation and reporting processes
  • Identify, manipulate, analyze and reconcile anomalies and recommend actionable insights and adjustments where appropriate – solutions that work!
  • Work collaboratively with other finance staff, operations and IT to improve speed and accuracy of financial data – you're able to work and get along with all sorts 
  • Coordinate, develop and update written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process
  • Other duties as assigned, including assisting in the management of monthly closing process, including analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts

Role Specifications 

  • Minimum 2 years of leading geographically dispersed teams tasked with high volume accounting processes
  • 7+ years of related finance experience ideally in process improvement projects or implementations
  • CPA designation required
  • Know-how in project and/or operational accounting and creating infrastructure to support and enhance it
  • Microsoft AX experience considered an asset, but not required
