Farfan & Mendes Limited and Crosbie Group Limited have entered into a Guyana-based joint venture to provide a world-class suite of offerings to the offshore oil and gas industry. Farfan & Mendes Limited was established in Guyana in 1960, and is a highly respected, family owned business. Today, Farfan & Mendes Limited employs over 120 people and is active in the forestry, mining, renewable energy, oil and gas and industrial services sectors. Operating for over a century, Crosbie Group Limited is an Atlantic Canadian-based family owned business, employing more than 500 people. For the past 30 years, Crosbie Group and its member companies Atlantic Maintenance Services, Crosbie Salamis Limited and MacKinnon & Olding, have been providing a full suite of asset maintenance, deck management, as well as technical services and solutions to the offshore oil & gas and marine sectors.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Leader will be a trusted team member responsible for financial planning & reporting, treasury, taxation, investments, commercial, business processes, systems and controls services as well as stewarding the business in the successful pursuit of its strategy.  As an integral member of the senior leadership team, you will have responsibility for the oversight of financial planning, reporting, stewardship, contracts and stakeholder management, liquidity and working capital management, business processes, and systems and controls. Focused on continuous improvement in business operations and inventory management, you will ensure the organization has the structure, the people, and the functional capability to achieve the projected growth plans and overall business strategy.

As the ideal candidate, you are a proven financial leader with a reputation for fostering organizational effectiveness, growth, and development. You have a successful track record and expertise in identifying and driving value in an organization. You have a reputation for being a trusted business advisor who fosters strategic organizational improvement and success through effective people development, management, and performance accountability. You have the ability to communicate financial analytics in a clear and concise manner. A skilled negotiator, you have a strong interest in overall business operations and you are a big picture thinker who is comfortable and effective working at both a strategic and a tactical level.

Your post-secondary education in finance or accounting, combined with a professional accounting designation and a minimum of 10 years’ senior financial leadership experience, preferably within a fast-growing and entrepreneurial organization, makes you a great fit for this organization. Experience in the oil and gas industry or an industrial environment is considered an asset. This position is located in Guyana.
