Financial Reporting Accountant (Contract) - Deadline Extended

Heritage Royalty is seeking a motivated individual to join our finance team as a Financial Reporting Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Reporting Accountant will be a well-rounded professional with a positive attitude, able to manage a variety of responsibilities.

Position Details

Job Title:                    Financial Reporting Accountant

Reporting To:             Controller

Term:                         16 month contract

Start Date:                 Immediate

Location:                   Calgary, AB

Responsibilities

  • Enter general journal entries and accruals
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Review and administrate accounts payable
  • Process incoming and outgoing payments
  • Vendor and payment administration
  • Credit facility reporting
  • File monthly GST
  • Assist in annual G&A budget
  • Ad hoc reporting and projects as required

The Company

Heritage Royalty is one of Canada’s largest fee title acreage owners with approximately 4.8 million acres in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.  In addition, we hold fee title acreage in the Permian basin in Texas, USA, and gross overriding royalties in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Marcellus basin in Pennsylvania, USA.  Heritage Royalty also manages a non-operated working interest in the Weyburn Unit. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be expected to champion Heritage Royalty’s culture of continuous improvement, always looking for more efficient and effective processes with a commitment to high-level governance.  Required qualifications include:

  • University degree or diploma (accounting or business administration preferred)
  • Holds or is working towards a professional accounting designation (considered an asset)
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Excel
  • Effective and highly collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, can work independently and resolve challenges with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing work environment 
  • Experience with Qbyte considered an asset
  • Oil and Gas industry experience considered an asset
