Rundle College is an independent, coeducational, day school that was founded in 1985 and provides an outstanding educational experience for approximately 1,150 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Position:


Rundle College Society is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team at the Society Office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Rundle College Society is seeking an experienced, energetic, collaborative, flexible, tech-savvy individual. The Accounting Manager will contribute to the overall success of Rundle College Society by supervising and executing the accounting and payroll functions of the organization.

  • Other duties and responsibilities include:

    • Supporting the mission, vision and values of Rundle.

    • Supervising the accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

    • Preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations to ensure account balances are accurately reflected on a timely basis.

    • Preparing internal monthly financial reports and provide advisory services to budget-owners.

    • Contributing to the budget development and year-end financial reporting processes.

    • Maintaining records and actively manage customer accounts in conjunction with the accounts receivable clerk/admissions department.

    • Ensuring compliance with payroll and GST filing legislation.

    • Providing support and leadership to school administrative staff.

    • Recommending process improvements and maintain system configurations to facilitate accurate and efficient accounting and financial reporting.

    • Maintaining the organization’s chart of accounts.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Technical Ability:

  • Knowledge of accounting standards for non-for-profit organizations

  • Proficiency in the use of accounting systems (Sage), Microsoft Office products and Google applications.

  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.  Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency.

  • Experience with Rycor fee management system considered an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of technical competence

  • Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision, manage multiple and shifting priorities, and consistently meet deadlines

  • Payroll experience considered an asset

 

Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation

  • 5 years experience with progressive responsibilities in a senior accounting role.

  • 2 years supervisory experience.

  • Experience working in an educational institution considered an asset.
