More Than Just Feed is a Western Canadian owned support company providing agricultural products and services to their specialized brands in the feed industry. Their brands are trusted by Canadian farmers because they are customer focused, high quality, and dependable. They provide a full scope of support services, including warehousing and on farm delivery services of their retail products. They are constantly working to revolutionize the feed industry, making and selling brands that support Canadian farmers to put food on family tables for the next 100 years. More Than Just Feed (MTJF) and all its brands are driven by one core purpose- helping farmers feed people. 


The opportunity is for a Chief Financial Officer who, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely as a peer with the Chief Information Officer, will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial and reporting operations as well as managing all external banking and credit relationships. The CFO works as a key business partner providing leadership that delivers strategic advice and operational excellence for all aspects of the business.  The CFO will play a leadership role, partnering with the CEO, to set the plan to achieve the company’s growth strategy. Assessing acquisitions, conducting due diligence, providing management and financial reporting and enabling organic growth by installing better systems and processes will be key activities for the new CFO.

The successful candidate will bring a track record of success as a CFO, VP, Finance or other senior financial leadership role with broad operational responsibility ideally in an agricultural business, food processing environment or other industries with parallels to More Than Just Feed. The candidate will ideally scale the business for growth through market expansion and acquisition.  They will possess a professional accounting designation (CPA) ideally with a post-secondary degree or other industry recognized accreditation. They will have a demonstrated ability to act as a strategic business partner and be a highly collaborative and inspiring leader with a reputation for developing strong teams that are committed to adding value and supporting financial and operational objectives. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work in a high-growth culture, effectively collaborating and communicating with staff at all levels across the business and will believe in being a visible leader who wants to understand how the business operates and the challenges of driving the bottom line in a business that is committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience.
