White & Company Chartered Professional Accountants is a partnership established in 2011.  The firm is located in Three Hills, Alberta with clients located in central Alberta.  Our firm consists of 2 partners and 5 support staff striving to build strong, personal relationships with our clients within the community and area we serve.

 

We are a preapproved training program office and are continuously hiring a CPA student to fill the assurance workload.  We value continuing education, both in our partners and our staff, to maintain a high level of client services.  We are a full-service accounting firm that provides bookkeeping, accounting, tax, assurance (both review and audit engagements), financial and estate planning.

Job Description

 

We are looking for a energetic individual to fill a Managing Senior Accountant position within our team.  The successful candidate will be preparing engagement files, reviewing other individual’s work, and meeting clients.  This individual will be looking to grow the firm and take on new challenges to support our team.  There is a potential partnership opportunity.

 

Competencies

 

  • Canadian accounting designation.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a designated individual in a public practice accounting firm.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP with a strong knowledge of ASPE and ASPNO.
  • Experience with file preparation, financial statements, personal and corporate tax returns, and other Canada Revenue Agency filings.  Experience with file review would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of CaseWare/CaseView, Jazz-it, Profile, QuickBooks, Sage, Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads while preparing multiple engagements concurrently, both independently and in a team environment.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare assurance files and mentor CPA students in the preparation of assurance files.
  • Prepare compilation year ends and personal tax returns.
  • Supervise, mentor and train CPA students and accounting technicians.
  • Communicate with clients and government agencies.
  • Apply analytical accounting and tax knowledge to identify issues, suggest alternatives and implement plans.
  • Complete reviews of corporate files, financial statements, and tax returns.
