General Manager

We are currently seeking a General Manager. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager oversees an annual operating budget and a team of full and part-time staff. The General Manager will use exceptional team building, people management and excellent communication skills along with sound judgment to build and maintain positive relationships and provide leadership to successfully carry out the operations of the business and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

The preferred candidate will:

• have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience at a management level, preferably in a recreation or venue environment;
• have a proven track record of understanding and place a priority on operating safe facilities and activities;
• have an established background in financial management/accounting and have experience preparing/analyzing operating and capital budgets;
• have experience overseeing the planning and execution capital projects;
• have a strong proactive planning focus that includes both short and long term objectives;
• have a positive focus with outstanding customer service orientation;
• have a strong problem solving and solution-oriented focus;
• have experience with implementing employment and contractual law, including negotiating leases with tenants;
• have experience working collaboratively with other entities, including private business, schools, community organizations, and governments;
