Summary of Position

In support of CCI Inc.’s continued growth, this role, based in our Cochrane office, will work with the finance team and report directly to the Controller, supporting the efficient and accurate accounting operations of the CCI group of companies. Responsibilities with this position include financial statement analysis, account reconciliations and analysis, preparation and posting of journal entries, banking and month end statutory reporting, developing and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and controls, assisting with the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results in a multi-company/multi-currency environment and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

 

Accountabilities

  • Assist in the maintenance of the accounting operations in a multi-company/multi-currency environment
  • Maintain accounting practices, processes and internal controls to ensure that reported results comply with applicable financial reporting standards
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and accompanying analysis for review by the Controller
  • Inventory and fixed asset reconciliations including reconciling counts to general ledger balances and received not invoiced accounts
  • Assist with the management of the month end process including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and reconciliation of intercompany transactions and accounts
  • Preparation of banking and related transactions
  • Assist with the preparation and management of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Assist with the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Assist with cash flow monitoring, debt levels and payments and calculation with debt covenants
  • Ensure compliance with provincial/state, local and federal government reporting requirements, filings and related payments including but not limited to GST, workers compensation, corporate tax
  • Other duties, as required

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Commerce or Business Administration, with a major in Accounting is required
  • Minimum 7-10 years progressively responsible and applicable accounting experience, strong preference given to those with public practice experience
  • US based industry experience is an asset
  • Experience in a multi-company, multi-currency environment an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including leaders, all staff, contractors and clients
  • Outstanding written, verbal and professional communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to apply professional judgement and to prioritize tasks in a high volume workload
  • Strong Excel skillset required and ERP system experience required, experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset
  • Working towards, or having achieved, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
