Accountant, Corporate Accounting (14 month mat leave contract)

What you'll do

  • Prepare consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures for corporate entities
  • Prepare and analyze working papers for corporate entities, ensuring that financial information provided is timely and relevant for effective decision making
  • Complete monthly and quarterly accounting entries and procedures, including variance analysis to budget and prior periods
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist with electronic banking administration as required
  • Track and reconcile intercompany and other accounts
  • Prepare and process monthly accounts payable related to various corporate entities
  • Prepare and file GST returns for corporate entities
  • Prepare working papers and backup for external audit process
  • Ad-hoc analysis and projects as required

You have

  • A CPA designation (or close to completion) and 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven your ability to work with complex legal entity consolidations, eliminations, and foreign currency transactions
  • Proven your ability to work within a multiple entity setting and a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of AX 2012 and Management Reporter (preferred)
  • Real Estate industry experience (an asset)
  • Exceptional organizational skills; able to multitask
  • Excellent communication and people skills
