The Manager, Investor Relations will be a key member of Emera’s Corporate Finance team, working closely with the Vice President, Investor Relations and Pensions, the Investor Relations Analyst, as well as other stakeholders across the Emera group of companies to contribute to Emera’s financial growth and stability by executing on its vision and strategic plan for investor attraction and retention and through the seamless management of investor relations. You will consistently evaluate the processes for achieving the IR strategy and represent the IR team as a liaison to the investment community, remaining consistently in contact with the 14 Investment analysts currently covering Emera (and growing). You will clearly and effectively communicate the company’s strategy and financial results, as well as the Emera story, past present and future, and work closely with all Emera affiliates to gather accurate and timely information.  You will interact directly with Emera’s CEO and CFO to keep them well informed of the progress toward established objectives and participate in a variety of investor relations activities, including quarterly earnings calls, investor marketing, strategic financial analysis, and special projects.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or other related disciplines (Masters preferred), a CFA or CPA designation, a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in a financial analysis or treasury-related position, preferably within a large publicly traded multinational organization, and good exposure to the demands of capital markets. You have highly developed financial analysis skills, a deep understanding of capital markets, and you remain consistently up to date on developments within the broader investment community. You have the ability to accurately interpret complex financial statements and to evaluate the processes for achieving the IR strategy; outstanding written communication skills which enable you to produce high quality materials for presentation to different audiences such as investment analysts, shareholders, and the senior leadership team; the ability to identify, understand, and anticipate the needs and questions of shareholders, and to effectively and appropriately respond to any concerns in an efficient and responsible manner.  Results oriented, exceptionally well organized, and highly detailed, you can consistently meet objectives and deadlines within a fast-paced dynamic environment.

A natural relationship builder, you have the credentials, skills, and professional presence to effectively represent Emera to a wide variety of stakeholders, and you have the drive and determination to make a significant contribution to the success of the organization and to advance in your own career.  Experience within the utilities or energy industry and within U.S. capital markets will be considered assets.
