Reporting to the City Manager, the Deputy City Manager, Financial and Corporate Services (DCM) creates the conditions for success for the City as a modern municipal corporation. Supporting a team of more than 1000 staff in the areas of:

·         Assessment & Taxation

·         Corporate Procurement & Supply Services

·         Financial Services

·         Service Innovation and Performance

·         Open City & Technology

·         Real Estate

·         Budget Planning & Development

·         Investment Services

The DCM acts as the Chief Financial Officer and ensures systems are aligned to deliver Council's vision for the corporation. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, and working with Council, citizens, and stakeholders, the DCM ensures an open systems perspective is adopted as part of shared services optimization.

Qualified candidates will have 15 years of progressively responsible senior management experience, in a large complex organization, preferably at the municipal government level, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other related discipline such as Public Administration.  Applicants should also have a natural ability to cultivate and nurture innovative, collaborative partnerships with multistakeholder environments, levels of government, business partners, unions, community organizations, City Council, Departments and Branches.
