This position reports to the CFO and is responsible for heading the finance department. We are looking for a professional with inherent leadership qualities and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas. The successful applicant will have basic business knowledge, thorough understanding of accounting principles and will have prior experience with taxes and cross border accounting. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reporting and Financial Statements:

  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for multiple companies
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues
  • Review all inter-company transactions, generate invoices and reconcile accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts

Financial Controls:

  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE principles
  • Provide accounting support for all operations
  • Work with all levels of the organization to realize company goals

Year End and Tax Returns

  • Coordinate month-end and year-end procedures and close process
  • Generate financial statements
  • Assist with tax returns and audits

Strategic Analysis

  • Provide strategic analysis to drive improved decision making
  • Supporting new systems or project selections and implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited University
  • CPA designation or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in general or tax accounting


  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and ASPE principles
  • Familiarity with full cycle accounting and financial accounting statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Aptitude for numbers, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong computer skills, working knowledge of ERP systems and computer programs, specifically, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Solid understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations
