Financial Analyst

Job Description:

 

  • Develop financial models to analyze and report on projects related to Fixed Asset (IFRS 16 Leased and Owned).
  • Review financial operating results to identify key trends, variances, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and legislation regarding accurate reporting of financial results
  • Ensure all financial analysis and recommendations are grounded and well supported
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations for review by manager. Includes all Fixed Asset Sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliation.
  • Participate in investigation and issue resolution on asset processes to improve data quality and to make processes more efficient.
  • Responsible for the additions and disposals of fixed assets
  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring CAPEX Project balances.
  • Assist tax manager with tax reporting documentation related to fixed asset entries.
  • SWIP balance accuracy and associated entries.
  • Provide data and support for quarterly and year end audits.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Progressing towards a Professional designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA)
  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in an analytical role in finance or business accounting.
  • Proficient with using Microsoft Office programs (including Word and Excel) in required
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and provide necessary support
  • Problem solving – Identifying problems and the solutions to them
  • Solid time management and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a large organization is considered an asset
