Job Description:
- Develop financial models to analyze and report on projects related to Fixed Asset (IFRS 16 Leased and Owned).
- Review financial operating results to identify key trends, variances, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to all policies and legislation regarding accurate reporting of financial results
- Ensure all financial analysis and recommendations are grounded and well supported
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations for review by manager. Includes all Fixed Asset Sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliation.
- Participate in investigation and issue resolution on asset processes to improve data quality and to make processes more efficient.
- Responsible for the additions and disposals of fixed assets
- Responsible for maintaining and monitoring CAPEX Project balances.
- Assist tax manager with tax reporting documentation related to fixed asset entries.
- SWIP balance accuracy and associated entries.
- Provide data and support for quarterly and year end audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Progressing towards a Professional designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA)
- A minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in an analytical role in finance or business accounting.
- Proficient with using Microsoft Office programs (including Word and Excel) in required
- Strong Attention to detail
- Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and provide necessary support
- Problem solving – Identifying problems and the solutions to them
- Solid time management and organizational skills
- Experience working in a large organization is considered an asset
