Responsibilities:

May include but not limited to:

  • Work with the Executive Director on the yearly operational plan, providing operational leadership and a sound financial perspective on programs and operations.
  • Lead the finance and payroll team in developing and managing financial processes
  • Support the development of annual budgets and prepares monthly analysis of revenue and expenses against prior year and budget, providing insights and solutions to help mitigate risks
  • Work with external auditors, coordinating the annual audit
  • Prepare financial reporting for the Board of Directors and various funding bodies
  • Prepare and present multi-year operational forecasts by examining needs, budget lines, and reporting against projected targets
  • Oversee risk management and insurance activities including legal, insurance applications and claims management
  • Report to senior management trends that are critical to the organization’s financial performance
  • Responsible for asset management
  • Oversee tendering and procurement processes.

Education and experience required:

  • Chartered Professional Account (CPA) designation required
  • Between two and five years of relevant experience, including organizational operations
  • Strong experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, and Budgeting
  • Experience with payroll an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software systems (Microsoft Business Central)
  • A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and act on their life choices and seek active participation in the community
  • An understanding of the opportunities and options available to persons with disabilities, mindful of cultural and ethnic sensitivity
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and project management skills, and the ability to balance competing demands/priorities and deal with competing opinions
  • Supervisory, leadership, team-building, and related skills, and capabilities
