Summary
We are looking for an energetic new grad to fill this role! The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for coordinating the accurate and efficient completion of monthly accounting records for Marketing. the successful candidate will also assist in the preparation of various operating reports for all management levels and provide reliable information to management as required. 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Identifies and interprets items of financial and operational relevance, effectively communicate suggests solutions of unusual items to the Supervisor of Marketing Accounting.
  • Prepares complex general ledger journal entries as needed, and based on monthly, quarterly and annual requirements.
  • Assists in the timely and accurate preparation of various management reports, including monthly reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests.
  • Provides accounting expertise in the continuous improvement of current business processes and in the formulation of new business processes.
  • Assists in the preparation of year-end audit working papers.
  • Identifies and reports operational issues affecting the results of the Business Unit.
  • Reconciles and reports variances of estimated operational results to actual.
  • Reports details of reconciling items for Marketing area reconciliations and prepare adjusting journal entries to correct these items as necessary.
  • Prepares and loads General Ledger transactions.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned. 

What You Will Bring

  • Post-secondary accounting education with a view towards a professional accounting designation.
  • Minimum of 1+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in the use of relational database systems and proficient with Windows-based applications including spreadsheet, word processing and database software.
  • Ability to ensure the accurate and efficient completion of financial requirements (as they relate to the above) based on pre-assigned deadlines and IFRS with a minimum of supervision
  • Interprets items of operational and cash relevance, update reporting requirements, identify and communicate all unusual items on a timely basis.
  • Ability to provide meaningful information to management in order that they may utilize the information to make timely decisions.
  • Provides accounting expertise in the continuous improvement of current business processes and in the formulation of new business processes.
  • Ability to effectively interact with other individuals at all levels of the Company.
  • Innovative, self-motivated and a well-organized team player.
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.

Working Conditions

  • The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.
