Senior Staff Accountant

Position Details

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in our Edmonton office for a full-time (40 hours per week) permanent position.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of audit, review, and compilation engagements.
  • Preparation of corporation income tax returns and other government returns as required, including GST, payroll, and WCB.
  • Preparation of personal income tax returns.
  • Preparation of, and assistance to clients with, bookkeeping and other financial areas as required.
  • Communication with CRA regarding information requests and assessments.
  • Provision of consultation services to clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • Accounting-related diploma or degree required.
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA) is an asset.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines with adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Ability to make decisions and problem-solve independently within the scope of the position.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
  • Available to work overtime during peak seasons.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks and standards.

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years Canadian public practice experience.
  • Experience with any of Caseware, TaxPrep, Doc-it, Sage 50, Quickbooks, QBO, and/or Microsoft Office is an asset.
  • Experience in auditing an asset.
