Volunteer Board of Directors Treasurer

Are you committed to creating communities that are free from sexual violence? Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) is looking for individuals who are interested in joining our Board of Directors to support our compassionate team. Our Board is an active and involved group who care deeply about the organization and our fiduciary duties to support and govern the organization.

CCASA is a dynamic and innovative not for profit that seeks to serve and support all community members in Calgary and surrounding areas by providing counselling and community services that address sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual assault.  Our mission is to lead in the provision of specialized sexual violence services and educate communities in order to shift attitudes and responses to sexual violence.

For over 25 years, CCASA has built a strong foundation and network of services to support communities in addressing sexual violence and the resulting myriad of complex issues for individuals, families and communities.

CCASA is grounded in anti-oppressive practices and is committed to being equitable and inclusive while creating a safe space for all.  We aim to be a representation on of the communities we serve thus we welcome people of all diverse backgrounds to apply for this position. However, we are particularly wanting to create space for the voices and experiences of racialized, LGBTQ2+ and those impacted by disabilities; community members to help shape and build CCASA into a hub of support for those who are underrepresented and under-served.  While we value the importance of representation, we are seeking individuals committed to their communities that are able to assist in identifying gaps in our services and further developing relationships beyond the boardroom.

In alignment with core values, CCASA is looking for individuals that are collaborative, community centred, empathetic, innovative, and forward thinking in creating ways we can better serve the communities of Calgary and its surrounding areas.

Specifically, we are looking to fill the role of Board Treasurer. This individual will have at least 3-5 years' experience in financial management and accounting and will have a professional designation in such. Knowledge of not for profit management an asset. This role provides oversight to the CEO and Director of Finance, IT and Admin and will chair the Finance and Audit Committee.
