About Us

Alberta Infrastructure provides public infrastructure that contributes to the province’s economy and Albertans’ quality of life. The ministry is accountable for the long-term planning of provincial public infrastructure to support key social programs and services and economic development. It designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and health infrastructure meets the needs of all Albertans now and in the future. It is also responsible for alternative ways to finance and deliver infrastructure projects including public-private partnerships.

Role

Reporting to the Deputy Minister, you will lead the centralized work of public-private partnerships (P3s) related to infrastructure projects, engage in strategic partnership opportunities, and explore alternative financing options for public infrastructure.  You will be responsible for assessing value for money and risk allocations for partnerships to support timely and efficient delivery of infrastructure. Work will include coordinating effective P3 procurement process in collaboration with delivery partners and multidisciplinary teams. A key part of this role will be to proactively and collaboratively work as the main liaison with the federal government Canada Infrastructure Bank, the private sector and large institutional investors to secure capital for infrastructure development. Unsolicited proposals and alternative infrastructure partnering opportunities are also a priority to attract investment to province. As an integral member of the ministry executive team, you will share accountability for achieving business plan goals and government priorities.  
 

Qualifications

Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related executive leadership experience and ideally working knowledge of infrastructure funding models, partnerships with funding entities as well as extensive project management.  You have a sound understanding of policy development, government approval processes and a track record for building successful alternative financing and partnerships.  You are recognized for your advanced negotiation and effective communication skills.  A respected leader of people, you are committed to building strong lines of communication and trust, empowering your teams to achieve results through performance excellence.  A related degree is preferred.  
 

Salary

$5,873.18 - $7,707.88 bi-weekly ($153,289 - $201,175 yearly)
