JOB SUMMARY

Our Financial Investigator position in Due Diligence is primarily responsible for ensuring integrity throughout Alberta’s gaming and cannabis industries.  This role involves conducting confidential due diligence financial investigations on cannabis and gaming applicants/licensees/registrants pursuant to the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Regulation (section 9).  This includes reviewing confidential personal and corporate financial information, performing analysis, conducting interviews and preparing concise reports outlining the results of the due diligence financial investigation.
In this position you will take on the role as Financial Investigator of all financial inquiries including financial analysis and interpreting investigative findings to assess eligibility and financial viability.   You will manage and prioritize a large number of case files, and will work closely with an Investigator.  Proven strong financial investigative skills, excellent time management skills, strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, demonstrated leadership, strong conceptual and problem solving abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills are requirements of this position.  The ability to deal with the public in a professional manner is paramount.  


Travel is required in this role, as such a valid Canadian Non GDL driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and a valid passport are conditions of employment.

SKILLS/ABILITIES
•    Related post-secondary degree
•    Chartered Professional Accounting designation (CPA) is required plus a minimum of 5 years of accounting or audit experience. 
•    Experience in public practice or private/public business preferred.
•    Experience conducting due diligence financial investigations and fraud investigations.
•    Fraud Investigation designation (Certified Forensic Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner) will be considered an asset.
