2022/2023 CPA Articling & Co-Op Students

The Role

CPA Articling & Co-op Students will serve as integral members of our Assurance and Advisory Services Department. The individuals will work collaboratively with all members within the department in preparing personal taxes, compilation engagements, reviews, audits and all related financial reporting documentation and will report to the Human Resource Manager.  

The individuals will be responsible for taking initiative and ownership in their files and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills in receiving and providing constructive feedback. They will be reliable, organized, adaptable, and enthusiastic team members who will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare compilation engagements, personal taxes, audits and reviews
  • Plan and review a variety of engagements as required, as performance progresses
  • Assist with a variety of accounting tasks and projects
  • Assume the position of trusted liaison between managers, partners and clients

Qualifications

  • CPA Articling Students: 
    • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institute with a major in Accounting
    • Completion of all required CPA pre-requisite courses, as outlined by CPA Alberta
  • Co-Op Students:
    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary Bachelor of Commerce degree program or equivalent, and a desire to eventually pursue their CPA designation
  • Knowledge and experience working in accounting software such as CaseWare, Tax Prep, QuickBooks, and Simply Accounting would be an asset
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel would be an asset

Compensation

Commensurate with experience and market. CPA Articling Students will be supported financially through the CPA Program, and be eligible for a full benefits package and robust Health Spending Account. All students will have access to our private gym, right in the building!
