Manager, Financial Services


The Manager Financial Services is a member of the Corporate Services management team and provides leadership, oversight, coordination, and direction to ensure that financial services are provided to senior management, employees, and stakeholders in a timely, accurate, effective, and efficient manner. The Manager reports to the Executive Director to develop short- and long-term strategies for the department. They ensure effective financial planning and expenditure controls are in place, are accountable for fiscal responsibility, efficiency, and restraint, while maintaining integrity and effectiveness in all aspects of administration and a high level of customer service.

Reporting to the Manager Financial Services are 2 supervisors who provide direction to a team of twenty including individuals working in the areas Financial Analysis, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounting Analysis, Payroll and Benefits, Buying/Procurement, and Taxation.


  • Completion of a relevant Bachelor’s degree in a related field along with minimum ten years of progressively responsible and diversified experience in Financial Services.
  • CPA Designation.
  • Municipal government experience is ideal, or other complex private/public sector organization will also be considered.
  • Leadership skills, team building, conflict resolution, business/technical writing skills, coaching and mentoring abilities in addition to time management, organizational, problem solving and decision making ability.
  • Well-developed communication and interpretation skills.
  • Superior customer service skills to both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and creativity in an increasingly complex environment.
  • Ability to gain acceptance of activities and/or ideas through internal relationships.
  • Proficiency in automated systems including MS Office Suite
