Corporate Accountant

Challenger Geomatics Ltd. is looking to hire an experienced Corporate Accountant to join our team in Sherwood Park. The Corporate Accountant will ensure accurate, timely and complete accounting and financial reporting for all aspects of Challenger’s on-going corporate business. This includes providing a broad range of accounting support services to the Controller, payroll and invoicing roles.

Specific Accountabilities (not all-inclusive):

• Assist in the preparation and analyzing of monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Manage monthly closing processes, including reconciliations and working papers.
• Complete journal entries as necessary
• Review and post Accounts Payable related items
• Gatekeeper for payroll and invoicing related data
• Assists in the annual budget process
• Prepares monthly GST returns and Source Deduction payments
• Responsible for full accounting cycle for Related Companies
• Perform invoicing duties and provide guidance and support to invoicing positions throughout the organization
• Ensure that all financial policies and procedures are in accordance with internal controls.
• Work with other departments to improve financial processes.
• Provide timely financial and statistical reports for management and/or Board.

Qualifications:

• Preferred candidate will have or will be working towards a CPA accounting designation and a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Superior organizational skills, able to interact professionally with various levels of management and eager to learn a wide range of new skills. Payroll experience an asset.
