We are seeking an experienced full time Designated Accountant to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation and review of personal tax returns.
• Preparation and review of compilation engagements.
• Preparation and review of review engagements.
• Assist with bookkeeping for our clients including preparation of government remittances/filings and payroll.
• Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, GST accounts and intercompany accounts.
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and discuss with management to develop resolutions for clients.
• Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and other issues that may arise.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to manage workload demands and multiple tasks.
• Ability to meet deadline and work within time budgets.
• Strong computer and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles and processes.
• Experience with Caseware, Tax Cycle, Sage, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Experience preparing T4's and T5's.
• Previous experience in public practice would be considered an asset.
