INFRASTRUCTURE & RENEWABLE RESOURCES

We are seeking an Associate, Portfolio Management & Insights to join our growing Infrastructure & Renewable Resources team where you will play a key role in protecting, growing, and realizing the value of the portfolio!

What you bring:

  • Undergraduate university degree and/or MBA with emphasis in finance and investment analysis
  • 3 -6 years’ experience, ideally in investment management (preference for institutional investment experience), infrastructure, private equity, investment banking, or management consulting
  • Holding or working towards completion of a relevant professional designation (CPA, CFA, or CBV)
  • Knowledgeable with respect to financial reporting and investment valuation matters
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Fluency with a broad range of computer applications (Microsoft Office, Tableau)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Diplomatic, tactful, and strong interpersonal skills

The position also works on many ad hoc portfolio projects that require detailed analysis and a good understanding of financial and investment markets.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepares and/or reviews client presentation materials and content for quarterly client reports and other stakeholder reporting
  • Works with internal and external parties to ensure consistency of the valuation process and timely completion of portfolio valuations
  • Supports the program’s pool openings
  • Analyzes return drivers, program exposure, external management fees, and internal management fees
  • Monitors current investment progress at the program level
  • Analyzes Key Performance Indicators collected from our direct investments
  • Contributes to the department’s annual budgeting cycle and monitors monthly results
  • Collaborates with Infrastructure & Renewable Resources, other departments in BCI and institutional peers on risk management, compliance requirements, and reporting framework over investment risk, enterprise risk, legal, tax, and ESG matters
  • Conduct the analysis of the Infrastructure & Renewable Resources hedging program and provide investment recommendations
  • Identifies or implements IT systems, solutions, and reporting analytics to support the Group’s investment activities
  • Works with the Infrastructure & Renewable Resources team to support initiatives to streamline workflow, processes, and reporting
  • Participates in special projects as directed by the EVP or Director
  • Contributes to being part of a high performance and motivated team

The team invests in a variety of capacities including as a sole sponsor, co-sponsor, or co-investor and very selectively through externally managed funds.
