SunMETA Group is the corporate headquarters for Sundance College and related domestic and international initiatives in the education field.

Sundance College is a leading western Canadian private college with multiple locations offering both on-campus and online diploma programs in the business, health, hospitality, legal and technology fields.

This is a new role needed to deal with the company’s growth, and it reports to the VP Finance.

This role will appeal to candidates who are looking for the opportunity to both learn and demonstrate hands-on business process improvement skills, to support the company’s current and future growth.

Major Functions and Responsibilities

  • Sole responsibility for preparing monthly and annual financial statements for associated companies, and their related yearend reconciliations and working papers. Assist with the annual financial statements and other reporting for Sundance College.
  • Develop and maintain monthly variance and KPI reports.
  • Analyze, flowchart and streamline workflow processes for several departments.
  • Play a key role in implementing 2 major information systems over the coming year.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies & suppliers to respond to inquiries and correspondence.
  • Troubleshoot and research accounting problems for resolution.
  • Active collaboration with staff across the organization in order to get tasks and projects completed.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Maintain confidentiality of student and company information.
  • Expert level Microsoft Excel.

Experience

  • Nearly or newly designated CPA
  • Knowledge of ASPE
  • Solid foundation in both financial & managerial accounting
  • Knowledge of KPIs, variance analysis
  • Process flowcharting experience would be helpful

Hours: Monday – Friday: occasional weekend work

Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
