Public Practice Senior Accountant 

We are a small accounting firm that punches above our weight.  Located in the Oliver area, we service a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses. Our office prepares compilation and review financial statements, along with corporate and personal income tax returns.   We do not do audit work.

The partners have reached middle-age and want to reduce their current workload.   We are looking for a hungry, humble and smart CPA to join our dynamic team.   The ideal candidate would be familiar with the new compilation standards, review engagements, and quality assurance.  We seek a team member who is comfortable interacting with clients, mentoring staff, and solving problems.

The ideal candidate will have the breadth of experience and well-rounded skillset that comes with public practice experience.

Duties:

• Prepare review engagement working papers and financial statements.
• Work on compilation engagements of medium-to-high difficulty
• Assist with firm quality assurance and monitoring
• Prepare corporate and personal tax returns, GST returns, T4, T5 and other information returns
• Communication with our clients, government agencies and other professionals

Skills:

• The position requires proficiency in CaseWare, tax return software (our office uses Taxprep), Excel, QuickBooks/Sage/Xero, and Office 365.
