Corporate Consolidation and Reporting team of the Office of the Controller is recruiting for a FIN 4 position– if you are an experienced Accountant and strong communicator who is curious by nature, enjoys diving into details of interpreting policies and numbers, and loves to challenge yourself with corporate consolidation, reporting and the corporate financial system!
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Consolidations and Reporting (CCR), you will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and other management financial reports. This position provides support with the preparation of Government of Alberta (GoA) consolidated financial statements, promotes government accountability and transparency, and ensures legislative requirements are met.
As a Senior Corporate Consolidations Analyst, you will be responsible for playing a lead role in the preparation of financial reporting and in providing financial quality assurance.
- Preparing working papers, notes, and schedules for quarterly and annual reporting.
- Supporting the government’s financial system – 1GX, an SAP based enterprise system, you will perform complex financial analysis on financial issues and projects, identify issues in the financial, system and business process and bring the issues to senior management for decision. Leading assigned ministry financial projects and reviewing the work of financial and business analysts
- This position collaborates with and support government departments and entities using the knowledge of government policies, legislation, and business process. Senior Corporate Consolidation Analyst also contributes to the maintenance of corporate resource documents and coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure the GoA process documents are up to date.
- Supporting the preparation of timely and accurate financial information, responding to FOIP requests and public disclosure requirements, and ensuring a high degree of financial accountability and control for accounting and reporting policies
- Examining, analyzing, and interpreting complex financial data and making recommendations for improvements to enhance the reliability of information in the financial statements.
