Senior Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of compilation engagements primarily, with the possibility of some review engagements
  • Preparation of T1, T2, T3 returns and other T slip’s (T4s, T5s, T5018s, etc.)
  • Review file work of senior and junior accounting staff
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
  • Communicate (primarily via email) with clients and their bookkeepers to request supporting documentation for year end files.
  • Assist partners with other tax and accounting client requests as needed.

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • A CPA designation
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with private enterprise focus
  • Highly skilled at problem solving; if there's an accounting mess, you know how to reconcile it and/or fix it with little to no assistance.
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online is ideal.
  • Good working knowledge of CaseWare
  • Good working knowledge of corporate tax software, preferably TaxCycle
  • Excellent communication skills, both with staff members and clients
  • The ability to juggle changing priorities and manage own deadlines and work efficiently to time budgets.
