The Opportunity:
Canadian Natural Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst! This key individual will apply their accounting and analytical skills while using technology to solve business problems. You will be part of a dynamic team supporting business users on a day-to-day basis, pivoting and changing with business processes.
Reporting to the Supervisor of the EFAS Support Services, the EFAS Business Analyst (BA) works with customers in Finance and other departments to identify and implement financial solutions. The EFAS BA manages month-close activities in the system, validates journal entries, addresses user system requests and issues, and allocates the remaining time left for projects.
Key Accountabilities:
- Execute Month End and Year End close activities for multiple companies
- Support and enhance a portfolio of financial solutions including applications, modules, integrities and integrations. Provide application support to the North America and International offices
- Perform data integrities and reconciliations
- Help users and troubleshoot issues from the daily use of the applications
- Configure software, participate in development efforts, own functional tests, and coordinate the testing (UAT) of changes to the Enterprise Finance solutions
- Develop relationships with the users of Finance applications and other departments to address their needs and issues
- Lead or collaborate on continuous improvement or project initiatives

- Shift schedule: 5x2 – Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

Skills & Qualifications:
- University degree in accounting or finance
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
- Business Analysis Certification is an asset
- At least 5 years post-CPA designation; combination of industry and accounting firm experience is preferred
- Strong technical skills in application support. Able to write Oracle SQL retrieval scripts
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage priorities and work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
- Effective communication skills throughout the organization from end-users to senior management levels. Ability to present complex concepts clearly in easily understood terms, with the use of visuals
